We have a small, well stocked fishing lake here on the park. This is stocked with general course fish including carp, tench, chub, roach, perch and bream.
Please read our collection of do’s and don’t before fishing. They are for everyone’s benefit and hopefully will make your fishing at Glencote a memorable experience.
The pool has been created and stocked to provide good fishing. It is not a play pool. We expect anyone who uses the pool to have a basic knowledge of coarse fishing techniques ie. Playing and landing fish, unhooking, correct handling and returning of fish to the water.

An Environment Agency Rod Licence is required to fish this pool.
A current Glencote permit is required to fish, and must be obtained before fishing.
The bailiff will check tickets and tackle daily. Tickets are not transferable.

Conditions

  • Fishing is only allowed from the hard standing platforms.
  • Tackle is limited to single, barbless hooks only, maximum size 10, line strength maximum of 10lb and no braided lines. Rods are to be a minimum of 10ft length.
  • Landing nets are essential. Unhooking mats are desirable, but if you do not have one, all fish must be unhooked on the grass.
  • No keepnets. (All fish must be returned to the water immediately).
  • No floating baits (due to wild fowl), and strictly no ground baits. (Loose feed is permissible).
  • No ledgering, method feeders or fixed feeder rigs.

  • Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Strictly no children’s rods to be used. (See above for guidance on usable rods).
